More than 175 alumni from Rutgers Law School’s Newark classes of 1976, 1981, 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016 returned to campus on June 5 to celebrate their milestone reunions.

The day began with a luncheon followed by remarks from Dean Johanna Bond and a panel discussion featuring current students and recent graduates who shared insights into their academic journeys and campus experiences.

In the afternoon, attendees participated in a CLE program, “A Genuine Meritocracy: The State of DEI and Its Implications for Work Culture,” presented by Distinguished Professor Rachel D. Godsil.

The celebration culminated with evening festivities at Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall, located at 15 Washington Street. For many alumni, RBG Hall was their former law school building, making the occasion especially meaningful. A cocktail reception provided a welcoming opportunity for classmates to reconnect—often for the first time in many years—before gathering with their respective reunion classes for dinner and conversation.

In addition to celebrating and renewing old friendships, alumni collectively raised $140,000 in support of endowed class scholarships. Their generosity will help create opportunities for future generations of Rutgers Law students and leave a lasting impact on the law school community.

Here’s what some of our returning alumni had to say about the experience:

Donna J. Jackson’96 - "Thirty years ago, we shared classrooms, dreams, and the challenges of becoming lawyers; today, we share the stories of lives well lived. Though technology has helped us stay connected and cheer each other on from afar, nothing compares to gathering again and seeing in-person the faces behind the memories. This reunion reminds us that our greatest legacy isn't just what we've accomplished, it's the people who have shared the journey."

Caitlin Miller’16 - "Being back at the law school for our 10-year reunion brought back so many happy memories. It was amazing to reconnect, reminisce, and swap stories with my incredible classmates."
